International Linen & Uniform Service Day (ILUD)
is a global celebration of the people who keep the world clean, comfortable, and running: the linen, uniform, and facility service professionals working behind the scenes every single day.
Held every August 9th in honor of the 1910 patent of the first electric washing machine, ILUD shines a light on the "heroes behind the heroes," from route drivers to laundry techs to service reps, whose work quietly powers hospitals, restaurants, hotels, and industries far beyond.
This year's theme, The Clean Behind the Scene, takes that spotlight even further, celebrating the industry through the lens of the movies we love and the real people who make the magic happen off camera. It's a day to say thank you, share a shoutout, and celebrate an industry that rarely gets the spotlight but never stops delivering.
